Things Cooper Ate
Today he destroyed a paper bag, ate the ribbon off a toy that wasn't his, and most upsetting destroyed a slipper of mine brought back from Poland. Bumme about that one since they're not replaceable without visiting Zakopane.

Springtime planting
There's a bit of joy in watching peat pellets expand and grow in even little rows!
Summer in Texas will soon be burning the grass dry- but before that happens I plan on getting some veggies out of that ground. I started composting last August when we got here, and I'm planning on trying growing things here this spring - swiftly approaching. This unusually cold spring has delayed planting season in North Texas, so that is luck for me. But the other obstacle is that I'm unfamiliar with the varieties of plants and how much I need to water them down here. That's gonna take a bit of learning.
I'm starting off with some Italian San Marzano tomatoes, Anaheim chili peppers and sage. I love the smell of sage and it makes clean incense. Tomatoes and peppers come handy for cooking, and in the case of the peppers, can look pretty when you dry them.
Once my garden bed is set up I'll try for peas, carrots, kale, and mixed greens. For now these little greenhouses is where I'm beginning.

No, not the shoes!!! Things cooper ate
We took cooper on a hike by the lake this morning before going to the movies. Apparently this didn't make him tired and he chewed through two of my shoes. One was a favorite pair of sneakers that got me through a 10 mike race. The other was my favorite pair of flat dress shoes. :/ not sure why he gets so frustrated while we're gone!
